_{I studied Art History and Art & Policy at the University of Groningen. After starting working at Galerie Paul Andriesse in Amsterdam and the Mondriaan Foundation (nowadays the Mondriaan Fund) where I was responsible for the International Visitors Program, I worked for seven years as curator at SKOR, Foundation for Art and Public Space. Since then I am working independently, as author, researcher, editor and exhibition maker. Alongside my freelance practice, I am a currently lecturer at the Master Institute of Visual Cultures at the St. Joost Academy Den Bosch, and advisor for the Mondriaan Fund (2021-2025).}

_{I am interested in the position of art practices in society, and their (possible) resonance in the public domain. In light of this, I like to investigate the specific ways in which artists seek a relationship with socio-political reality, and adress it in ideosyncratic scenarios that I feel are meaningful for a wider audience. I like to see these artistic strategies as parallel ways of looking and thinking, that both question and enrich existing frameworks and dominant perspectives.}_{On this website I give an overview of my work, alternately in Dutch and English. I work in both languages and present the project in the language in which I realised it.}

Ik heb Kunstgeschiedenis en Kunst & Beleid gestudeerd aan de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. Na een start bij Galerie Paul Andriesse in Amsterdam en de toenmalige Mondriaan Stichting, waar ik het Internationale Bezoekersprogramma verzorgde, heb ik zeven jaar gewerkt als curator bij SKOR, Stichting Kunst en Openbare ruimte. Sindsdien werk ik zelfstandig, als auteur, onderzoeker, redacteur en tentoonstellingsmaker. Op het moment ben ik naast mijn freelance praktijk, als docent verbonden aan het Master Institute of Visual Cultures aan de St. Joost Academie Den Bosch, en als adviseur bij het Mondriaan Fonds (2021-2025).}

_{Ik ben geintereseerd in de positie van kunstpraktijken in de samenleving, en hun mogelijke resonantie in het publieke debat. In dat licht kom ik steeds weer uit bij de manieren waarop kunstenaars een relatie zoeken met de sociaal-politieke realiteit, en daarover ‘spreken’ in bijzondere scenario’s die in mijn ogen betekenisvol zijn voor een breder publiek. Ik zie die artistieke strategieën graag als parallelle manieren van kijken en denken, die de bestaande kaders en dominante zienswijzen zowel bevragen als verrijken.}
